Skye Warren Rabbit & Guinea Pig Boarding FAQ

Do rabbits need to be vaccinated?

Yes.

For the safety of all our guests, we require rabbits to be fully vaccinated against:

  • Myxomatosis
  • Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic Disease (RVHD1 & RVHD2)

Please provide proof of vaccination before your rabbit’s stay.

Can bonded rabbits stay together?

Absolutely!

We strongly encourage bonded rabbits to stay together. Keeping bonded pairs together helps reduce stress and allows them to continue their normal routines throughout their holiday.

What should I bring?

Please bring:

  • Your rabbit’s usual pellets
  • Any medication (if required)
  • A labelled carrier
  • A favourite toy or blanket (optional)
  • Vaccination record

We provide:

🌿 Unlimited quality hay

🥬 Fresh vegetables (if requested)

Can you give medication?

Yes.

We’re happy to administer most prescribed medications according to your instructions. Please discuss your rabbit’s needs with us before booking.

How often are rabbits checked?

Your rabbit is monitored throughout the day.

We keep an eye on:

  • Eating and drinking
  • Hay intake
  • Droppings
  • Behaviour
  • General health and wellbeing

If we have any concerns, we’ll contact you straight away.

Can I bring my rabbit’s favourite toys?

Of course!

Many rabbits settle more quickly when they have familiar items from home.

What happens if my rabbit becomes unwell?

If your rabbit shows signs of illness, we’ll contact you immediately.

If veterinary treatment is required, we’ll follow the emergency contact information you provided when booking.

Do you provide food?

We ask owners to provide their rabbit’s usual pellets to help avoid sudden dietary changes.

We provide:

  • Unlimited hay
  • A selection of quality hays
  • Fresh vegetables (if required)
  • Natural forage
  • Healthy treats

Forgot your pellets? Don’t worry! We always keep a small supply of emergency pellets on hand in case they’re accidentally left behind. However, whenever possible, we recommend bringing your rabbit’s own food to help maintain their normal routine.

Can I visit before booking?

To ensure the privacy and wellbeing of our boarding guests, we no longer offer pre-booking visits.

Instead, we’re happy to provide photos and videos of our accommodation so you can see exactly where your rabbit or guinea pig will be staying. When you arrive for your pet’s stay, we’ll also be happy to show you around the boarding areas and answer any questions you may have.

This approach helps us minimise disruption to our guests and allows us to focus on providing the highest standard of care.
